A substantial volume in 12°, brown morocco, with a smooth, flat spine richly decorated with a longitudinal design of a half-fleur-de-lis framing a radiant heart, set within a border of arabesques on the spine and, in the centre of the front cover, ‘Madame Marguerite’ and, on the lower cover, ‘De Baune’, in gilt lettering. The *Metamorphoses* are illustrated within the text with superb woodcuts. A copy of the very highest quality, preserved in a superb binding (cap restored).
