BIBLIA SACRA, carefully and faithfully revised from the finest extant copies of the ancient and Vulgate translations. With an interpretation of Hebrew, Chaldean and Greek names, Lyon, Guillaume Rouillé, 1566;
This folio-sized volume is bound in fawn calfskin, with a highly decorated spine featuring six raised bands, covers with gilt decoration comprising a large central fleur-de-lis, corner fleur-de-lises surrounded by a fine scroll-work border, half-gilt dots, gilt roulette on the edges, gilt edges. Contemporary binding. Title within a wood-engraved border, wood-engraved initials, text in two columns, copy ruled. The Old Testament occupies pp. 1 to 899, the New Testament occupies pp. 900 to 1114. The final folios are devoted to the interpretation of Hebrew words and the index. The Old Testament is illustrated with a series of 269 engravings by Pierre Vase, from the 7th edition. Rouillé did not publish the series of illustrations for the New Testament composed by Pierre Vase. Baudrier, XI, 304–305.
