Paris, Guillaume Chaudière, 1569; In 8°, brown calfskin, decorated ribbed spine, triple gilt fillet on the covers, interior lace, red edges. 18th-century binding. A second edition, of great rarity, of this famous chronicle of the Albigensian Crusade, translated by Arnaud Sorbin de Sainte-Foi from the Latin of the Cistercian monk Pierre des Vaux de Cernay, a friend of Simon de Montfort, whom he accompanied on his cruel expeditions against the heretics of Languedoc. At the end of the volume, the publisher has bound the *Allégresse de la France…contre les rebelles calvinistes*, 7 ff. Brunet, IV, 579–580 – Picot: Rothschild, II, no. 2029.
