Antwerp, Anthonis Coppens van Diest, 1573; In folio, 10 unnumbered preliminary leaves, 70 double-page engraved maps with explanatory text, and 47 unnumbered leaves of Latin text, red morocco, ribbed spine decorated with fillets and a repeated fleur-de-lis motif, covers decorated with a triple frame of three fillets, gilt fleurons at the corners, gilt edges. 17th-century binding. A fine, very well-bound copy of the second edition of this great atlas. The quality of the black-and-white maps is remarkable. The engraved title page and the planisphere are missing. The thirteenth map, depicting France, comes from another, slightly shorter copy. Copy has been repaired.
