Bound by Riviere & Sons, bookbinders in London. First and very fine German edition of Jacques du Fouilloux’s major work. It is illustrated with the frontispiece title page and 87 woodcut plates in the text by Jost AMMAN. This copy, superbly bound by Riviere, is complete down to the last leaf, depicting Diana with a stag and, on the reverse, Diana and her dog. From the library of Georg Richard Schwerdt, one of the world’s greatest collectors of hunting books and author of a bibliography, with his bookplate.
