By M. Le Gentil, of the Royal Academy of Sciences. Printed by order of His Majesty; two volumes in quarto, mottled fawn calfskin, ribbed spine decorated with compartments featuring a crowned monogram and fleurs-de-lis, title and volume number labels in red morocco, triple gilt fillet, coat of arms stamped on the covers, red mottled edges. Contemporary binding. This edition comprises 13 fold-out plates as inserts in Volume I and 14 fold-out plates as inserts in Volume II.
