BOTANY. BULLIARD: Herbarium of France, or Complete Collection of the Native Plants of this Kingdom. Paris, printed by the author’s printer, Didot the Younger, Debure, Belon and Leblanc, from 1781 to 1793; 13 volumes, large quarto, marbled pale calfskin, plain spine with decorative lettering, title and volume number labels in red and green morocco, triple gilt fillets and gilt corner fleurons on the covers, gilt edges. Contemporary bindings. This copy of Bulliard’s highly significant publication comprises: 600 colour-engraved plates, mainly depictions of mushrooms. The title page of the first volume, published in 1781, is engraved and highlighted. The volume of the second division, published in 1791, includes a fold-out table and 6 colour-engraved plates which first appear in the other volumes. (Some bindings are scuffed).
