Paris: Société générale de Librairie catholique and Brussels: former Henri Goemaere, 1881 [1880]; In 8° (240x152 mm), green morocco, ribbed spine, endpapers lined with green calfskin, salmon-coloured tabis endpapers, cover and spine preserved, slipcase in half-green morocco. Bound by HUSER. FIRST EDITION, dated 1881 but printed from the beginning of December of the previous year. Print run of 500 copies on ordinary vellum paper. Included is an autograph letter signed by Paul Verlaine, sent from Joinville to his publisher, dated 8 February (1881), at the time of the publication of *Sagesse*, 2 pp. in 8°.
