Brooch-pendant set with an oval-cut amethyst (approx. 48 ct) Surrounded by old-cut diamonds (total approx. 8 ct), 585 gold, approx. 3.5 x 3 cm, 21 g. According to the sellers, this brooch is said to have belonged to the American opera singer Gladys Swarthout (1900–1969) and is said to have come from the estate of the Spanish opera singer Adelina Patti (1843–1919).
