Nicolas Vleughels (1668–1737) The Death of Dido and The Death of Meleager, a pair of oil paintings on copper, 24 × 20 cm . Provenance: Eynard Collection. The pair of paintings was acquired by Jacques Eynard in February 1799. In a letter to his father, Gabriel-Antoine Eynard, he described them as “charming paintings in terms of both composition and execution; they deserve to be examined carefully”.
