Charles Guigon (1807–1882) The Doge’s Marriage to the Sea, oil on canvas, 105 × 154 cm. Provenance: Eynard Collection. Acquired by Jean-Gabriel Eynard at the Rath Museum Exhibition on 15 August 1834. Jean-Jacques Rigaud mentions this work in *Les Beaux-Arts à Genève*: “When visiting Mr Eynard-Lullin’s fine house, one sees […] two beautiful views of Venice, masterpieces by Guigon”.
