Circular case in gilded brass, lid edged with a row of pearls, glass body decorated with flowering branches in chiselled silver, rounded base, signed on the rim of the body ‘Prosper Roussel Pce Vendôme 26’. Mid-19th century.
Later alteration involving the addition of resin to imitate hardstone on the lid and base; the lid is decorated with modern rhinestones and a metal ornament featuring a wheel-shaped rhinestone, 19th century.
