A religious statue carved from oak depicting Saint Jean-François-Régis (1597–1640), a French Jesuit priest and missionary to rural areas. He gained great popularity in the town of Le Puy-en-Velay by defending the lace-makers and securing from the Parliament of Toulouse the right to produce the famous Le Puy lace, the main source of income for many poor inhabitants). 18th century. Left hand missing at the back, traces of former polychromy.
