A Louis XVI-style clock in marble and chiselled, gilded bronze, featuring a fluted half-column in white marble, surmounted by a sculpture of a child reading; a circular white-enamelled dial with Roman numerals painted in black for the hours, a minute track and Arabic numerals for the minutes. Dial signed ‘Vaillant à Paris’. The whole rests on a black marble base with four bronze feet. 19th century.
