Description
LACLOCHE
Flower brooch with a secret watch — gold, platinum, rubies and diamonds
A yellow gold brooch depicting a blooming flower — probably a dahlia — with radiating petals arranged in two rows. The centre is edged with a row of nineteen calibrated, facetted rubies encircling a pistil set with twenty-four diamonds, each weighing approximately 0.03 carats, mounted on platinum. The pistil conceals a watch whose dial is signed Lacloche.
French craftsmanship. 18-carat yellow gold (750 ‰) and platinum; eagle’s head hallmark. Dial signed Lacloche.
Numbered 000856; master’s hallmark illegible. The case back engraved with a point ‘17.8.1953’.
Circa 1950.
Height: 4.6 cm — Length: 3.9 cm — Gross weight: 25.5 g. The clasp concealing the watch has been
soldered — the soldering is probably reversible; a safety catch is missing from the reverse.
