‘TOURBILLON’ BROOCH
Gold and diamonds
A swirl-shaped brooch in yellow gold, featuring gadrooned petals made of gold wire edged with granulation, winding around a centre paved with brilliant-cut diamonds set on platinum; the centre adorned with a brilliant-cut diamond surrounded by eight small diamonds.
The central diamond weighs approximately 0.20 carats; the eight surrounding diamonds weigh approximately 0.005 carats each; the arms are set with
brilliant-cut diamonds.
French craftsmanship, yellow gold and platinum; hallmarks: eagle’s head (gold) and dog’s head (platinum). Master’s mark attributed to Jean-Claude Champagnat (initials JC, symbol: a five-pointed star, 15 rue d’Acacia, Paris, engraved on 22 October 1961). Circa 1965.
