Rectangular gold snuff box; the lid, base and sides are guilloché-engraved with a pattern of interlaced lozenges, within a broad frame
embossed and chiselled with acanthus foliage and fleurons; an unadorned rectangular panel in the centre of the lid. Hinge.
18-carat gold (750 ‰). Paris, 1819–1838: bull’s head hallmark (guarantee of 18-carat gold) and greyhound’s head hallmark;
subsequently re-hallmarked with an eagle’s head. Master’s mark, possibly Louis-François Troncquoy. Paris, 1819–1838.
