Silver tea glass holder (podstakannik), cylindrical in shape on a pedestal, with a handle bent at a right angle; the body chiselled and
engraved with geometric friezes (herringbone, denticles and Greek frets) in the Old Russian style, the rim accented with a row of pearls.
Silver 84 zolotniki (875 ‰). Saint Petersburg, dated 1879; fineness mark, assayer’s mark ‘ИЕ’ of Ivan Yevstigneev, and
master’s mark ‘JR’ for Johann David Roppoin (active 1854–1887).
