Description
CHARLES HOLL Bracelet featuring a row of calibrated emeralds and diamonds — French craftsmanship A platinum bracelet comprising a central row of fifty-two round diamonds flanked by two rows of calibrated emeralds set in a grain setting. Snap clasp. French craftsmanship, platinum setting. Dog’s head hallmark (platinum); master goldsmith and jeweller Charles Holl’s hallmark (initials CH), 20 rue de la Victoire, Paris, engraved on 15 May 1917. Numbered 18144 and 54664. Circa 1920–1930. Length: approx. 17.5 cm — Width: 1.3 cm — Gross weight: 40.3 g. Charles Holl was one of the jewellery manufacturers who worked in the shadow of the greatest houses on Place Vendôme, crafting pieces for Cartier (Paris and New York), Van Cleef & Arpels, Boucheron and Tiffany & Co in the Art Deco style using platinum. The bracelet bears the double numbering characteristic of his workshop (18144 and 54664), a practice found on other documented pieces by his hand — such as a 1920 bracelet numbered 24197 and 54883.
