The French Constitution, enacted by the National Constituent Assembly in the years 1789, 1790 and 1791, and accepted by the King on 14 September 1791. Paris, Didot Jeune Press, at Garnery’s, 1791.
In-32 (94 x 59 mm), red morocco, plain spine decorated with gilded revolutionary ironwork (an arm wielding a sword surmounted by a
Phrygian cap), title label missing, gilt scrollwork framing the covers, gilt edges (contemporary binding). Endpapers and half-title page damaged and restored; pages 17 to 48 missing; the booklet is torn in places, but otherwise a rare copy in a revolutionary morocco leather binding of the period.
