Description
A set of three miniature enamelled metal vases, made using the cloisonné technique, in a baluster shape with flared necks.
1. Ivory vase — cream background with a geometric pattern of stylised clouds (ruyi) in brown, enhanced by a flowering branch (orange flowers and green foliage); neck accented with a dark green border.
2. Royal blue vase — midnight blue ground adorned with a scattering of yellow flowers with red centres and green foliage, set against a background of golden geometric motifs; green neck and base edged in gold.
3. Turquoise vase — turquoise-blue background with a motif of stylised golden clouds, decorated with a branch of plum blossoms (dark blue flowers) and a white flower with light green foliage; neck and base rimmed with gold.
A set characterised by uniformity of form, with varied colours and decorations, typical of Chinese mass-produced cloisonné for export, probably 20th century.
