Description
A flared bowl made of enamelled metal, using the cloisonné technique, with a coral-red base. The body is decorated with a large stylised white flower (resembling a peony or lotus) with a green centre, accompanied by yellow flower buds, small blue flowers and green foliage. A line of calligraphic inscription (to be identified — non-Latin script) runs around the rim, above the floral design. The upper rim is highlighted by a frieze of turquoise gadroons on a gold background; the interior of the bowl is enamelled in plain turquoise blue. The base is encircled by a gold rim. The second view shows the underside of the piece, also in turquoise enamel, with signs of wear and small chips visible on the enamel. Decorative style of Far Eastern or Tibetan-Mongolian inspiration (to be confirmed based on the inscription), probably 20th century.
