Description
A pair of enamelled metal eggs, crafted using the cloisonné technique, each mounted on a dark brown, carved wooden tripod base.
• The first egg, with a burgundy red background, is adorned with a stylised peony design with gilded outlines, in the ‘damasquiné’ style characteristic of Chinese cloisonné.
• The second egg, with a cream-white background criss-crossed by a network of golden scrolls (ruyi motif), features a polychrome chrysanthemum flower (orange, red and blue petals) accompanied by green foliage.
The turned wooden bases, in a tripod shape with curved legs, are matched to each piece.
Chinese decorative style, probably produced in the 20th century.
