An important architectural fragment in sandstone, depicting a multi-armed Hindu deity in a dancing pose, probably Shiva Nataraja, set within an elegant arched frame.
The deity is depicted in a particularly dynamic pose, the body animated by a twisting movement and one leg raised. The numerous arms, fanned out around the torso, emphasise the cosmic and dancing nature of the depiction. The face, still well-preserved, displays a calm expression that contrasts with the movement of the body. The hair, styled in a jata-mukuta, reinforces the possible identification with Shiva.
The figure stands out against a recessed background and is surrounded by a rich, arched architectural frame, adorned with plant motifs and small stylised flowers, typical of the decorative vocabulary of Angkorian Khmer sculpture.
The sculpture retains a fine patina of ancient sandstone, with traces of erosion and gaps resulting from its fragmentary nature. Despite these losses, the composition remains clearly legible and possesses genuine sculptural quality.
