Description
FOLK ART AND ANTIQUE BRASSWARE A collection of antique decorative objects and utensils in red copper and brass, comprising: - A large copper basin, with a hinged lid beautifully openwork-carved with circular motifs, mounted on its original long turned wooden handle. -A pair of copper candlesticks, distinguished by their richly chiselled shafts (one is decorated with foliage scrollwork, the other with a draped figure in the neoclassical style. - A small hammered copper cauldron with a tinned interior, fitted with a movable wrought-iron handle secured to brass fastenings. - A wall-mounted fountain reservoir: a half-moon-shaped copper vessel, fitted with a small spout at the base and a hanging handle at the back. -A small red copper pan with handles, featuring two riveted iron side handles. In good condition, with natural patina and signs of normal wear and tear. Also included is a sun-shaped trivet made of metal and stained-glass-style enamel, decorated with translucent enamels in yellow, orange and green that allow light to pass through. In good condition, with normal wear and tear on the metal. Diameter 14cm.
