A pair of major 19th-century black-and-white interpretative prints forming a decorative pair from the Romantic period:
-After Franz Xaver WINTERHALTER (1805–1873) and François GIRARD (1787–1870): *IL DECAMERONE*. Published in Paris by Goupil and Vibert.
-After Louis Léopold ROBERT (1794–1835) and Zachée PREVOST (1797–1861): ‘The Reapers in the Pontine Marshes’. Printed by Chardon Jeune and published in Paris by Rittner and Goupil.
Presented in their two identical period frames in gilded wood decorated with pearl friezes.
Frames are worn and damaged.
One glass panel is missing from one of the prints
