Infantry sword with scabbard – leather and brass
France, Reign of Louis-Philippe (1830–1848). Manufactured by ‘PIHET FRERES’ in Châtellerault.
Cast brass mount with twenty-seven flutes, inscribed with the date 1753
White double-edged blade in a carp-tail shape with a triangular flat at the heel, bearing hallmarks and the inscription “Pihet Frères” on one side and “Châtellerault 1833” on the other. L 63.8 cm (Blade 48.6 cm). (Signs of wear)
