MARIE-ANGE VAN MEYEL OUT OF TIME About the artwork: An original piece created using the fusing technique. A numbered copy (2/5), accompanied by its certificate of authenticity. When the deep balance of my body shifted, I chose to look at life in a different light. I imagined the infinitely small, this invisible universe, with the same sense of wonder as the first humans faced with the mysteries of nature. To rediscover innocence… To imagine the cellular world that makes us up without scientific theory or a microscope; simply to sense the shapes and colours. It is an invitation to enter an unknown world and discover a completely different reality there. Welcome to this very special universe; I hope you enjoy your time here. Marie Ange Van Meyel Nurtured from childhood by the tales and legends my grandmother used to whisper to me, and raised within a lineage of creators, I quite naturally found in photography a mirror of my imaginary world. Over the years, the lens has become an extension of my dreams. My daily life is a visual quest. Every shot already carries within it the seed of its transformation in post-production. From the moment the shutter clicks, I anticipate and pursue a vision: that of an intimate fusion between colour and light. I call this state of pure creation ‘FUSING’. It is a suspended passage from the concrete to the abstract, the threshold where a story is always taking shape. My ambition is to share these vibrant captures, to finally make the invisible visible. My work, deeply symbolist in nature, draws on poetry and philosophy. It allows me to capture the fleeting nature of my emotions whilst offering viewers the keys to a new realm—an invitation to both dream and engage in debate. The photographs presented here form the palette of this ongoing exploration. To conclude this journey, I am pleased to quote Wassily Kandinsky’s words from his correspondence with Schönberg: ‘I believe, in fact, that we cannot find our harmony today through geometric means, but on the contrary through the anti-geometric, the most absolute anti-logic.’
