KEYMI AND HE PUTS HIS GLASSES BACK ON About the work With ‘And he put his glasses back on’, Keymi continues his exploration of the Rumeur series, a collection of works that examines the notion of what lies outside the frame and the way in which each of us constructs our own narrative from fragmentary clues. The composition takes the form of an incomplete jigsaw puzzle. This absence is not a deficiency but a space left to the viewer’s imagination. Through this interplay of fragments, the artist invites everyone to mentally complete the image, to project their own narrative and to become an active participant in the work. The face depicted—stylised and rendered in a vivid palette blending pink, blue and black—seems frozen in a suspended moment. The title, *And He Put His Glasses Back On*, acts as the beginning of a story whose rest remains unknown. What happened before? What will happen next? The combination of text and image opens up a field of interpretations without ever closing it off. This approach directly echoes the mechanism of rumour: a fragment of information circulates, and everyone adds their own interpretation, transforming and enriching it until a multitude of possible versions emerges. Thus, the work finds its completion only in the eye of the beholder. Keymi’s visual art, characterised by minimalist forms inherited from Pop Art and street art, is here enhanced by the use of resin-coated polystyrene. The jigsaw-like cut-out gives the work a sculptural dimension that blurs the boundaries between painting and object, whilst making the fragment and the absence the true subjects of the composition. Keymi Keymi has, for several years, been developing a unique visual universe where popular culture, comic books, street art and contemporary imagery converge. Her work is distinguished by bold colours, strong graphic lines and a constant exploration of the mechanisms of perception and narration. Through various media and techniques, the artist creates works that engage the viewer’s imagination and challenge the way they construct meaning from images 35.5 x 35.5 cm spray paint and acrylic on resin-coated polystyrene
