OVER TWO AND A HALF CENTURIES OF HISTORY It all began in 1761, when Pierre-Jean Bernard, a young grocer from Coulommiers, moved to 35 Rue du Faubourg Montmartre to set up his business and start a family. 240 years later, in 2000, history repeated itself when Etienne Dolfi, then a confectioner and supplier to the Maison, took over the premises with Sophie, Steve, Jane and Jonathan, and introduced them to his passions for confectionery and chocolate-making. Today, the family has grown, and 16 ‘À la Mère de Famille’ shops now melt the hearts of Paris.
