COLETTE. *Mes Apprentissages*. *Ce que Claudine n’a pas dit*. Paris, Ferenczi, 1936. One in-8 volume, full black morocco, smooth spine decorated with a line of gold dotted lines, horizontal bands of gold or silver dotted lines of varying widths on each cover, gold dotted fillet on the inside, gilt edges, cover and spine preserved (binding signed J. ANTHOINE LEGRAIN). 32 photographic illustrations spread across 16 separate plates. First edition of this memoir in which Colette looks back on her 13 years of marriage to Henry Gauthier-Villars, known as Willy. One of 100 copies on Van Gelder Holland paper, this being one of 25 printed especially for the ‘Vingt-Cinq du Cercle Lyonnais’. A very fine copy in a binding by Jacques Anthoine-Legrain, who had taken over the workshop of his father-in-law, Pierre Legrain, in 1929.
