FLAUBERT (Gustave). *The Temptation of Saint Anthony*. Paris, Ferroud, Librairie des Amateurs, 1907. One quarto volume, in red half-maroquin with corner pieces, covers and spine intact, untrimmed, with slipcase. (Binding by Marius MAGNIN). Frontispiece and one in-text plate, burnished. Colour illustrations by Georges Antoine Rochegrosse, etched by Eugène Decisy (frontispiece, 5 hors-texte plates and 24 in-text plates). Printed in a run of 350 copies. This copy, no. 168 on Arches vellum, features two states of all the etchings (reserved for copies on Japanese paper): a black-and-white state with a note on Arches and a pre-letter colour state with notes on Japanese paper; 9 proofs and the illustrated subscription prospectus in two versions (vellum & Japanese paper). From the Émile Bruell library, with a double engraved ex-libris.
