First illustrated edition, featuring a frontispiece and 107 colour etchings and drypoints within the text by Malo Renault. A numbered edition limited to 130 copies, all printed on Marais vellum with a serpent watermark (no. 38 printed for Charles Gadala (1839–1923)).
