One volume, large 8vo, full fawn morocco, ribbed spine, gilded panels with small ironwork motifs and a gilded, mosaic-style flower in the centre of each panel, borders on the covers comprising scrolls, dotted lines and gilded fillets, gilded, mosaic-style flowers at the corners, gilded edges, edged slipcase (binding signed PAGNANT). Some engravings are faded, a few pinholes, slipcase rubbed. First edition, enriched with a series of illustrations on Japanese paper, colour-illustrated covers printed on pelure paper. 63 compositions by Paul AVRIL, including an illuminated frontispiece; ornamentation framing each page.
