[Cartography] [COPY BEARING THE INITIALS OF MARIE-AMÉLIE, QUEEN OF FRANCE]. 14 topographical maps of France surveyed at a scale of 1:80,000 under the direction of Lieutenant-General Baron Pelet, Peer of France. Paris, c. 1840. Mounted on canvas and folded into 3 luxurious period cases in red half-maroquin, bearing the crowned monogram ‘MA’ on the spine, with cardboard covers. Some scuffs and minor losses to the cases. Contains: 1/ the Seine and Oise, the Eure, the Bas-Rhin, the Jura. 2/ the Moselle, the Meurthe, the Doubs, the Haut-Rhin. 3/ the Nord (Part 1), the Nord (Part 2), the Somme, the Seine-Inférieure, the Pas-de-Calais, the Oise. Large, canvas-backed maps with coloured outlines. Average dimensions of the maps: 1.40 x 1.92 m. Marie-Amélie of Bourbon-Sicily (1782–1866), daughter of Ferdinand IV, King of the Two Sicilies, and Marie-Caroline-Louise of Austria, and aunt of the Duchess of Berry. She was the wife of Louis-Philippe, Duke of Orléans.
