[RELIGION / RELICS] – Set of 3 certificates of authenticity for relics (17th–18th centuries). The first certificate was issued by the Bishop of Porphyrie for a large portion of the head of Saint Didier the Martyr, a large portion of the cross of Saint Placide the Martyr and a large portion of the leg bones of Saint Maxime the Martyr (24 May 1686). Rare autograph signature of Joseph, Bishop of Porphyrie, dry seal, 4 pages of paper, 31x22 cm. The second was issued by Charles Eugène Valperga de Maglione, Bishop of Nice, for fragments of wood from the Cross of Christ in a small silver box (13 June 1789). Autograph signature of the bishop, dry seal, 2 pages of paper, 33x24 cm. Deed of donation of the body of Saint Lucidius the Martyr by the prior of the Convent of the Preachers in Marseille to the Carmelites (10 April 1715). Autograph signature of Hyacinte Romain, Preacher General, dry seal, 1 laminated sheet of paper, 22x17 cm. Enclosed is another text from the Bishop of Nice concerning the relics of Saint Justin, Saint Modestus, etc. (in poor condition).
