[FABRE D'ÉGLANTINE / GENEALOGY] – A superb genealogical study of Philippe-François-Nazaire Fabre, known as Fabre-d'Églantine, and his family, compiled by Gaston Bernaut, a former notary’s clerk in Paris and businessman: genealogical tables, correspondence with town halls and notaries’ offices, transcriptions of deeds, correspondence with Élisa Fabre, granddaughter of Joseph-Vincent-Dominique Fabre (himself the brother of Fabre-d’Églantine), the estate of Élisa Fabre, etc. Several hundred items. Bookplates of Jean-Louis Debauve, former judge at the Tribunal de Grande Instance de la Seine, a major collector of art and archival documents Philippe-François-Nazaire Fabre-d’Églantine (1750–1794) was a poet, actor and playwright. Having joined a troupe of travelling actors, he toured France before settling in Paris in 1787. He became involved in politics and embraced revolutionary ideas. A close associate of Danton, he stood trial alongside him before the Revolutionary Tribunal and was guillotined on 5 April 1794. Among his most notable works are the five-act verse comedy *Le Philinthe de Molière* and the famous ballad *Il pleut, il pleut bergère*.
