Description
[ANTI-NUCLEAR / CREYS-MALVILLE] – Set of 29 activist photographs taken during the demonstration on 31 July 1977: 16 prints measuring 30x24 cm and 13 prints measuring 24x18 cm. In 1977, in opposition to the proposed nuclear power station, the Malville Committees of the Rhône-Alpes region called for a determined yet peaceful march towards the site on 31 July, supported by 140 elected representatives from the region. The demonstration was banned by the Isère Prefecture. The police charged the 50,000 demonstrators present that day. The outcome was several dozen injured and one fatality.
