The print run of this three-volume edition of Tolstoy’s War and Peace, of which only the final volume is numbered, is limited as follows: A single copy on Arches pure-rag laid paper, comprising an original signed oil painting, a portrait of Tolstoy drawn by Pecnard and a colour suite of the illustrations on Malmenayde vellum. - 47 copies on pure-fibre Arches laid paper, each containing an original signed oil painting by Pecnard and a colour suite of illustrations on Malmenayde vellum, numbered from 1 to 47. - 270 copies on Malmenayde vellum containing a colour suite of illustrations, numbered from 48 to 317. - 1,250 copies on Malmenayde vellum, numbered from 318 to 1,567. - A further twenty non-commercial copies were printed for legal deposit and for the publication’s contributors.
