Antique Louis XIV scales. Large double-pan scales in gilded brass, suspended from a beam and a blackened cast-iron frame, resting on a rectangular base of stained wood.
Louis XIV period.
Provenance: La Rochepot, Château de Bourgogne.
With documents indicating a purchase made from the antique dealer Pierre Androt in Beaulieu-sur-Mer in 1956.
Stains, losses and damage.
The beam is partially pitted; there is a loss at the base of the cast iron frame and the black finish is partially missing.
The tops show scratches, slight dents and lettered hallmarks.
