EDY LEGRAND (1892–1970), Édouard Léon Louis Warschawsky, known as ‘Esquisses de paysages andalous’ (Sketches of Andalusian Landscapes) on two sheets, ink and watercolour, unsigned, 35×53 cm. A French illustrator and painter who illustrated over 150 works, including the Bible, Faust, Dante, Shakespeare, Albert Camus and Pagnol… He exhibited alongside Picasso, Matisse, Derain and Albert Marquet, and from the early 1920s at the Salon d’Automne, the Salon des Indépendants and the Société des Artistes Décorateurs.
