Two rare period documents travelled: Envelope on board with the ship's letterhead posted by one of the passengers and correspondence on the France's letterhead, written on board, posted on 26 January 1962 - Includes date stamp with illustrated flame representing Le France: "Le Havre ville moderne, ses paquebots" + commemorative claw illustrated with the ship's image, struck in red 28 x 48 mm, and text "The longest ship in the world / le plus long paquebot du Monde".
Concordant franking: stamp no. 1325 "paquebot France" issued in 1962 to commemorate the ship's maiden voyage.
