Historical medal: "AU RESTAURATEUR de la LIBERTE FRANCOISE" head of LOUIS XVI, profile on the right. - Reverse: "FIDELITE A LA PATRIE, A LA LOI ET AU ROI". In the centre: the royal insignia in a bundle, a Phrygian cap on the sword, a shield with the arms of France, all on a radiant background, below A LA LIBERTE - Signature of the engraver GROS. at the exergue : " PACTE FEDERATIF ORLEANS 9 MAI 1790 ". ( ** ). copper 32 mm - 10,62 grammes - L/A n° 1122 - Hennin n° 127 - RARE et TTB ( * ) Pacte Fédératif : after the speech of Louis XVI of February 4, 1790 during which he approves the work of the National Assembly, many deputies take oath of fidelity to THE LAW, THE KING and the NATION. ( ** ) - The Federative Pact of the National Guards assembled from various provinces in Orléans was celebrated with great solemnity. The troops assembled numbered around 5,000 men (Monitor of 15 May 1790). The title of Restorer of French Liberty had been awarded to the King by the National Assembly in its session of 4 to 5 August 1789. (according to Hennin).
