After Constantin BRANCUSI (1876–1957). The ROOSTER. Large polished bronze with a golden patina, on a black marble plinth. Signed on the base of the bronze. Height: 65.50 cm. Created in 1924, ‘The Rooster’ belongs to Brancusi’s period of full maturity: a radical synthesis of upward movement and pure form, the animal is no longer depicted but reduced to its essential momentum.
