Théodore DECK (1823–1891), a Japanese-style plant pot from the Napoleon III period in polychrome earthenware, with a bulbous body decorated with birds and butterflies amongst foliage, and handles in the shape of an elephant’s mask. Marked on the reverse. Late 19th-century piece, circa 1860–1880 H. 29 x 46 cm (one broken tusk, a hair on the reverse)
