Description
André Charles NAULEAU (1908–1986). Farm in the Vendée countryside. Oil on canvas, signed lower right. 50.5 x 61 cm André Charles NAULEAU (1908–1986) was a painter from the Vendée region, born in La Roche-sur-Yon. He exhibited for the first time in 1927, at the first Salon de La Roche-sur-Yon. From the 1940s onwards, his style evolved towards a more turbulent style of painting, which earned him growing recognition, particularly thanks to his participation in Parisian art exhibitions. In the 1960s, his work gradually became more subdued. In 1975, he celebrated fifty years of artistic creation with a retrospective entitled *Un demi-siècle d’Impressions vendéennes*.
