Description
André Charles NAULEAU (1908–1986). A farm in the Vendée on a grey day. Oil on canvas, unsigned. 65.5 x 92 cm André Charles NAULEAU (1908–1986) was a painter from the Vendée region, born in La Roche-sur-Yon. He exhibited for the first time in 1927, at the inaugural Salon de La Roche-sur-Yon. From the 1940s onwards, his style evolved towards a more turbulent style of painting, which earned him growing recognition, particularly through his participation in Parisian art exhibitions. In the 1960s, his work gradually took on a softer tone. In 1975, he celebrated fifty years of artistic creation with a retrospective entitled *Un demi-siècle d’Impressions vendéennes*.
