Description
LARRICART Félix. Rectangular table clock in brass and ormolu decorated on the sides with two women, allegories of the night and the day. In the centre, the dial has a gold background with Roman numerals for the XII and VI and baton hour markers in relief for the hours, the scrolled base rests on a rectangular black onyx pedestal. The case is engraved and numbered on the back LARRICART3/6 . Worked around 1950. Mechanical movement with manual winding from the back. Size: 19 x 25.5 x 5 cm. Félix Larricart, rue Poncelet in Paris (17th) was present at the 32nd Salon de la Société des Artistes Décorateurs in 1946 and was listed in the catalogue as producing clocks published by Jaeger, rue Vernier in Paris. Bibliographical reference: catalogue 32e Salon de la société des Artistes Décorateurs Palais de New York 7 June -14 July 1946, pp.57. This model is similar to the one produced in a limited series in 1954, of which No. 2/6 with a dial signed by Jaeger Lecoultre was sold at Artcurial, Monaco in July 2010.
