Planter with Egyptian decoration, Egypt, 20th century. Large truncated cone-shaped planter with cylindrical neck in hammered and chased brass with a frieze of Arabic pseudo-calligraphy on the neck, cartouches with animated scenes and pseudo-inscriptions alternating with medallions with figures on the shoulder, and a frieze of multi-lobed medallions with animated playlets on the body. The decorations are inspired by ancient Egypt, with elements such as Sphinxes, pyramids, dromedaries, palm trees, falcon gods with outstretched wings, etc. H. 35 cm; D. opening: 32 cm.
