A carved wooden statuette depicting Vishnu seated in majesty with four arms, holding his attributes, including the conch shell ‘shankha’, the mace ‘gada’, the lotus flower ‘padma’ and the disc (?) ‘ chakra’, protected by the five-headed serpent Sesha or Ananta (king of the nagas, symbolising the infinity of the cosmos), whose heads form a protective canopy above the deity.
